Lis
There's a story behind this pretty card. It's a Christmas card but just came in this week. In a plastic bag, with an apology from the postal system. It looked as though someone's dog had gotten hold of it...really rumpled and the envelope was quite chewed. And it has a really nifty fold. At least the delicate snowflake borders were not torn. I emailed Lis to say we'd received it, explain the circumstances, and she sent a picture of what the card looked like originally! It's still easy to see how beautiful it was and what skill Lis had put into making it!

Here's the inside, with the unique fold - and the window opens to reveal the Christmas tree in full glory!

This is a purchased card, sent from friends. Included it here, because wouldn't this be so easy to reproduce? It's so very sparkling IRL.

October 26

A delightfully spooky, scary witchy card from Blogger Candee of Card Corner by Candee. Isn't this just a wonderful, foggy & atmospheric card? We LOVED it! Thank you, Candee.

September 29

This lovely fall leaf card was made by my friend Candee. Not sure if the camera will pick up the piercing details in the upper left corner, but it is so effective with all the beautiful spatters and the watercolored maple leaf. We're enjoying this fall beauty on our mantel piece & so does everyone else who comes into the house. Don't you just love the layout design with the asymmetrical squares?

September 13

This embossed and beautifully chalked card came from Brenda W - and in the package was the cute little pumpkin - as well as some fall leaves sequins and some acrylic fall motifs. Brenda did a fab job of shading with chalks on this wonderful C/B embossing folder. It really cheered us up the day it arrived in the mail.

July 10

Thought I had posted this cute card received from Brenda L. but just realized I had not. Brenda is a whiz with the Spectrum Noir markers.

Front of Sweetie's card - inside had a very sweet sentiment

 From Brenda W.

Carol L.

Gosh, I got so many stunning handmade cards, each one just lovely and I felt so special to know the folks who are so talented & caring. Thank you all for making a milestone birthday such a pleasant day. Hugs.

July 2 2014 PM

Received this pretty 4th of July card in today's mail from my friend Candee of Card Corner by Candee. The photo doesn't show the glitter of the wreath's berries. Loved it!

May & June 2014

The first two are from Brenda

Then from Our Darnell - from whom I copied the idea of having a separate page for the sweet cards I receive.

Then a beautiful Memorial Day card from my friend Candee

I included links to each blogger's site, so that when you have time, you can go check out other lovely cards they've shared online. And thanks to Darnell for coming up with this nifty idea! MWAH!

I hope you'll enjoy seeing the skills of these talented cardmakers and bloggers just half as much as we enjoyed receiving these so special cards at our house. It's always a bright spot in the day, to have the mail come & open a pretty card, handmade by someone who was thinking about you. Even if you're not feeling tip top that particular day, the card & thoughts uplift you. Hugs til next card share.

June 20, 2014

Just popping in to share another lovely card received today from way across the sea. A lovely lady who is in the Christmas Club group that I belong to, was so kind to send this pretty card. Bloggers are the most generous & thoughtful people, aren't they?

Crafty Hazelnuts Card
Hazel has so many blogs that she sponsors and moderates, I was overwhelmed that she had time to think of me! You may be familiar with all of her Christmas blogs, which you can find by clicking on the hyperlink under her name.

Thank you so very much Hazel. This is such a pretty card, with lovely texture, a very intriguing image and  some wonderful design papers. Awesome.

June 29, 2014
From my sweet daughter...the image has special meaning for us both. I had to sniffle a bit when I read the inside...

From my sweet Brenda...the inside of this pretty card is just as pretty as the outside too, and she wrote some awfully kind & wonderful things that made me feel very humble. She's a very special person.

From my friend Gloria, who I've not talked with since May, so it was lovely to have this gorgeous card in the mail.

From Sweet Miss Bonnie, whose skill with watercolor never ceases to amaze me. I'm not sure exactly how this design was created..I am sure that it is dropdown beautiful though. With my favorite S/Binder oval and my favorite SU EF!

Thank you all so very much for making a milestone day a very SPECIAL day. I'll share a card from Sweetie later.

  1. Your new page is set up perfectly, Mary! I love having mine all in one place. I've discovered that the search button doesn't always work and as prolific as we are, it would take us a day to find one we were looking for! Besides, it is another way for our readers to have an inspiration gallery to browse through!! Hugs, Darnell

  2. Oh cool is this idea! That Darnell thinks of everything. Although I would have no clue on how to set up a page to put lovely cards on. lol But I sure do love the idea behind it! I love looking at other peoples cards so this page will be fun to look at from time to time Momma Mary. I will have to check out Darnell's too!! Hugs, Brenda
