Birthday

Hi there, and thanks for stopping in for a little visit. This card is definitely much prettier IRL; my photography skills just don't do it justice! The die is from Cheery Lynn (and cut quite well...I have some that do not!). The motif was cut from lightweight black c/stock, had to poke out a few bits. Mounted on a silvery blue glitter paper & rounded the corners. Cardbase is also black, embossed with an embossing folder; then used Viva Decor Inca Cobalt Blue to wipe some color over the black embossing. The picture does not show up well, but it's quite pretty I think. The sentiment was diecut from black c/s using an Elizabeth Craft die. DH has a birthday next month, and I think this will be for him. Blue is his favorite color! Ya'll have a grand day, and come back again soon. Hugs

  3. Mary - your birthday card looks charming and I really like it - our cards never seem to photograph the same as in real life and it can be so disappointing - I know.

  4. Hello Mary: love that die..I really like peacocks...nice job using the glitter paper..I love too glitter stuff!
Have you tried posting your photo in a "large" setting? when you download photo from blogger and your photo is on your post click on it and it will highlight there will be a little "window"/bluish color and there you can choose small, large, add caption etc...if you click on large maybe this way your details will show more? just a suggestion :) ...thanks for sharing
    bye

  9. I think it's stunning, and I too can not quite get the photography down to bring out the best in my crafting, but I can see all past that with your card. It's just lovely, and I bet it is amazing IRL!

  12. What a fabulous die...so intricate and gorgeous.

I enlarged the card to see all the fabby details and enlarging it really showed off everything you described. I love how you sort of rubbed over the embossed background...makes it so shimmery and pretty.
