Magenta Vase & Flowers (Class Card #2)

Good evening...and hope that your Friday was just great. Ours was sunny, but we had some awfully dark looking clouds around, which we thought might bring some rain. Heard a few rumbles of thunder, but no rain in our immediate area however. We bought some flowers to plant, so set them out by the garage to hopefully get a little drink. Didn't happen. So guess who will be watering tomorrow? Here's another of the cards made in last Sunday's Magenta class, sponsored by the Mercantile.

The green design paper is adhered to white cardstock, but doesn't show up here too well. The flowers & leaves were stamped in Pigment white ink (believe it was Colorbox Frost White), allowed to dry. Then we colored with Prisma color pencils. A second set  was partially stamped in white, so we could have 2 sets of the flowers. The 2nd set was also colored, then handcut, popped up. The bottom part of the leaves were cut - very carefully along 2 or 3 edges - with a craft knife. This cutting allowed the leaves to cascade over the vase. The vase is chipboard. It was colored with Prisma pencils, then a Colorbox Catseye pad was rubbed over the entire surface. Immediately while this ink was still 'wet', clear emboss powder was dusted over the piece, and a heatgun applied. This gave a glistening finish, which doesn't show here very well. The vase got some adhesive on the back, then was put on the black cardstock, lifting the cutout leaves to droop over the top of the vase. I think this is a very pretty look. Prisma pencils work well for this technique as they are much more waxy than some other brands, easier to blend.
